Day on the town

In Chicago for a friend’s wedding, we are seeing some sights. First stop: the Bean at Millennium Park. Then the Field Museum.

Finally some vacation

Woke up at 4:15 this morning to fly to Wisco and was surprised at how awake the kids were - until 10:30 Central time.

Flew into Milwaukee and visited the zoo. Sue & I liked it. Kids too, but they were impatient for the ride in the zoo train.

Bowling, no skinheads

We’ve meant to go to the local alley for some time. Since I took Friday off of work, we decided that a couple of games sounded good.

The balls are still a little heavy for Evelyn but she was still winning for a while.

Go Rock Cats!

tonight is little league night at the ballpark. if we make all nine innings… FIREWORKS!

We finally took down the big sugar maple that was right next to the house since it had a big hole in it and we knew that someday it would probably fall over or least of all a big branch could crash into the kitchen. After it came down we could see that it was hollow all the way to the base and it was only going to get worse. And yesterday when the little microburst came through I was so happy it was already down.

We have a new tree picked out a nursery up the road that might get planted as soon as this week. The new tree won’t be able to shade the house yet, but at least it won’t look so blank and bare. The old one had a good run and until it becomes firewood it is finding a use as a play area.
