Oops, I did it again

Friday afternoon I checked Craigslist before heading home and saw a Cub Cadet with mower and snow blower for $100. I called the guy up, and after Sue’s OK, I drive out to check it out.

Though he had talked to a guy who wanted him to deliver it, the owner said he hadn’t committed to anyone. And even though it hadn’t run for five years, the engine turned over with compression.

So I paid the c-note and returned the next day with a U-haul trailer. The rental was under $20 and I used it to haul all three Cadets to the car wash for a pressure rinse.

And the new one? It’s a 102 with a narrow frame. It had no spark, so I changed the points and plug, hooked up a voltage regulator, and cleaned as much rust from the gas tank as I could. Didn’t take much to come to life after that!

I had just enough time to take a victory lap of the house before it really started raining.
