Finding the tree

Finding The Tree

This year we did NOT wait until the very last minute before trying to find a tree. Since a storm was a-brewin’ we headed to Maple Row Farm where we got our tree last year. It’s a big operation, and has everything all figured out: Hayrides to the cuttin’ fields, pickup of the tree, and payment at a booth as one exits. The kids were all bundled up, ready for the usually wandering in circles while debating the finer points of one misshapen tree versus another, but as it turned out Sue found a tree in about a minute and a half. It may be a bit big, but it looks real nice inside.  So, anyway, we had the sled along because Dad’s learning that a kid can walk about fifty feet into a tree farm before wanting to be carried. And, luckily, this year there was enough snow to make a sled worthwhile.
