wild winds

If the Little Gym hadn’t called to cancel Owen’s karate class due to a tornado warning, then perhaps we wouldn’t have known about the warning, but did that stop me from going out for a quick trip to A&P to get strawberries and whipping cream for the schaum tortes? No!

I thought I had time, but the storm hit as I was driving through town. All of a sudden the wind slammed everything and the rain came down sideways buffeting the car. In the time it took me to drive less than a quarter mile, I already had turn around due to downed wires and I saw a huge tree fallen partly on a pickup truck and an apartment building. I did make it to the grocery store, but the trip home took a long time due to all the folks trying to find a route around the downed trees and wires. The bottom picture is around the corner from Ben and Jerry’s, which is nearby. The bottom photo is just down the street from us in the other direction. Amazingly, we didn’t lose power. What a mess!

The kids did a fantastic job getting ready for the Easter Bunny. And this year, Owen was able to wear his shirt all the way through!Watch for a full feature on Evie and Owen’s Easter adventures…. Find out who was more interested in the candy in the basket and who was more interested in the toys!
Though the weather has been fairly cold, every now and then there was a nice day like this one back in March. What better time than to ride the tricycle around the deck? It’s MUCH better than riding inside the house.Owen’s getting to be to big for the tricycle, but is only beginning to show slight interest in anything with two wheels. He has impressive leg speed, though, so even if that small front wheel needs to run at high RPMs, he can keep up with some of the kids riding bikes.
