Big Bobo and the new bed

Nellie and Bruce gave Owen a huge stuffed monkey for Christmas. Owen thought it was great because not only was it massive, but it was also a monkey. He really likes Hug by Jez Alborough which is about a monkey named Bobo who wants a hug and with the help of some elephants he finally finds his mom and gets a hug. The book has only three words: Bobo, Mama, and hug and Owen can say Bobo and Mama, which isn’t bad since he can only say about 10 words.imageSo we’ve taken to calling the new monkey Big Bobo since the Bobo in the book is quite small. He is also helping Owen make the jump from the crib to a twin mattress. Since we’ll be needing the crib for Baby #2 in less than a month we decided to get a mattress for Owen to start the transition out of the crib. We weren’t sure how he’d do, but yesterday he went for the mattress for his nap and hasn’t turned back. Today Big Bobo has joined the pile of stuffed animals and will hopefully also provide a cushion should Owen, who is prone to wander in the night, roll into the wall.
