Cliff and Linda a.k.a. Pop Pop and Linny

Joel’s dad and his wife drove all the way out from northern Wisconsin to visit us right after the big Presidents’ Day blizzard. It was their first time meeting Owen. Having guests was also a great excuse for us to make a big Thanksgiving-style turkey dinner.

The Blizzard of í03

Owen ventured out into the storm (Winter Storm Daniel) to check out the deep snow. He stayed on the shoveled path, but had he wandered off into the snow it would’ve been over his shoulders. With more snow on the way, we had to keep a close eye on him. He’s not big enough to hold onto the rope tied between the house and the shed.

Sleeping in

Owen tried out the big bed and thought it was quit comfy. He was especially cozy in his robe which he got from his great aunt Susan.

Scratched nose but smiling

It’s hard to wrestle Owen’s little hand away from him to file his nails so when we can’t keep up with them he ends up covered with tiny little scratches.

There goes Foxy!

The friendly neighborhood fox finally stayed put long enough for me to get the camera.

He did some grooming and then marked his territory as he walked through the yard. At least he’s a quiet woodland neighbor unlike the big raccoon which has been camping out in the chimney. This guy shinies up the side of the house and makes such a racket that before we realized it was a raccoon we were seriously thinking ghost.

…oh, and today we also saw a crow with a waffle.
