Where the sun don’t shine!

The weather had been too cold for biking for several weeks, which means that it takes longer to put on clothes than actually ride. On the other hand, a thick enough layer of ice covered the river, so when an inch and a half of snow fell, it was time to bust out the skis. We got in three days of skiing before a warm front and rising tides made the ice unsafeóor at least put too much water on top. And, no, my gloves don’t actually light up.

TV’s glowing glow

Not even 3 months old and Owen is already succumbing to the power of the TV.

This week he finally noticed that the big box in the living room that mom and dad stare at is also fun for him to stare at too. Looks like we’ll have to make sure his chair is not within visual range of the TV or else he’ll be a junkie in no time. At least his hand-eye coordination is still undeveloped so we don’t have to hide the remote, yet.

One bad mofo

You can tell who’s the biggest, baddest mofo of the flock when the other birds keep their distance. Somehow a deer carcass landed on the ice, which drew scavengers like crazy. I don’t know where that bald eagle normally roosts, but this is the first time we’ve seen her around here.
