First Thanksgiving For the little guy

Over the river and through the woods…. Owen combined his first trip away from home with a stay at his maternal grandparents, Grandma & Grandpa Canavan (or Nan & Grandpa, as it stands now).

Owen’s been a good boy away from home. He’s as well-behaved and cute on the road as he is at home. It’s been pretty busy for him, too, with a shopping trip out of state (his first!) and a pass-around at the Empty Nesters.

In this shot, Owen’s probably about 8 poundsómaybe 8 1/4óbut the turkey weighed in at 30!

Bye, Bye Mr. Stumpy!

After a few days of loosening, the last little bit of umbilical cord fell off. We don’t need to go into the gory details, but Owen’s very happy with his new belly button.

It means he can have a bath! Now, we don’t know whether it’ll be an “innie” or an “outie”, but it looks like an “innie” to us.

Owen goes to the shore

Owen goes to Harkness State Park, where his Aunt Anouk and Unkie Rick got married. If he would have been paying attention, he would have seen a horsie and a squirrel.

We are SO “Five Minutes Ago”

According to Entertainment Weekly’s Jessica Shaw, Babies, Boggle, Gratuitous T&A, and ” ” are Five Minutes Ago, while Mastermind, Older People, Full-Frontal Male, and semicolons are In. With Owen, we’ve definitely tilted into FMA territory, but I take solace in being a lifelong fan of the semicolon.

Owen’s 2-week checkup

Owenís a good gainer and now weighs 7 lb 13 oz. Heís put on 10 oz in 10 days. That’s an 8.7 percent gain. For comparison, that’s like a 150-pound guy adding 13 pounds in a week! This time he didnít pee all over the exam table, but faced the end of the world twice; once when Dr. Owen peeked into his ears, and again when his heel was pricked for the PKU.
